City Pride -- Jeffersonville's
beautification committee -- was established in 2004 and has since
undertaken a variety projects, ranging from cleanups of the area at
I-65 and Court Avenue to Tenth Street, to the planting of flowers,
to the placement of city benches around town.
The volunteer-led effort is co-chaired
by Peggy Duffy and Tony Decker.
City Pride meets at 9:30 a.m. every
other Tuesday in the Mayor's Conference Room at City Hall, 500
Quartermaster Ct.
City Pride's 2011 meeting dates include
January 4 and 18, February 1 and 15, March 1, 15 and 29, April 12
and 26, May 10 and 24, June 7 and 21, July 5 and 19, August 2, 16
and 30, September 13 and 27, October 11 and 25, November 22 and
December 6 and 20.
City
Pride and the City Partnership Program have collaborated on a
landscaping of strategic areas of the Terraced Lawn at RiverStage,
located in the 100 block of West Riverside Drive.
The landscaping includes topiaries and
flowers on the far eastern side of the Terraced Lawn, next to The
Overlook, and the southernmost law tier.
The work began in May 2010 and most of
it is expected to be complete by the time the 2010 RiverStage season
opens on June 4.

River Breeze is City Pride's annual
wine-tasting fundraiser.
River Breeze took place on Thursday,
September 9, 2010 at RiverStage, it's second year in that venue.
River Breeze was originally hosted at the intersection of Spring and
Chestnut streets.
