Department of Economic Development

The Department of Economic Development was established in 2010 to facilitate job growth through the expansion of existing business and the recruitment of new firms to Jeffersonville and the region.

The Department of Economic Development manages the city's tax abatement program, permitted under Indiana Code 6-1.1-12.1, with local policy established by City Council ordinance 1996-OR-084.

The Department of Economic Development shares staff with the Department of Redevelopment and often works hand in hand together to facilitate the success of specific projects.

Jobs growth in Jeffersonville

One Southern Indiana issued a report on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 showing seven corporate expansions in Jeffersonville since July 2009, representing 210 new jobs and $7.44 million in new payroll, or about $35,400 per job.

Grow Jeffersonville

Grow Jeffersonville is a business networking group founded by the City of Jeffersonville in 2009. It meets from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the Sheraton Louisville Riverside Hotel, 700 West Riverside Drive.
